Stellar (XLM) has shared its preparation schedule for Bell, the network’s next major update. Also known as Protocol 30, the upgrade aims to improve enterprise-scale intelligent computing and provide the infrastructure for post-quantum security research.
According to the official guidelines, the testnet upgrade vote will take place on November 3rd. The validator vote for the mainnet will be held on November 23rd at 8:00 PM Turkish time. It should be noted that this date is a voting schedule rather than a confirmed activation date.

One of the package’s notable features is support for verifying post-quantum signatures within smart contracts. This step doesn’t mean all accounts on the network will become quantum-proof at once.
The upgrade also includes a new address structure that will make it easier for a single smart contract to serve multiple clients. Millisecond-precise time information also aims to remove one of the technical hurdles to faster ledger closing.
Stellar has urged developers to update their software before the voting begins. The inability of older versions to read the new ledger format makes preparation crucial for applications.
