(ANSA) - ROME, 23 OTT - AC Milan coach Ruben Amorim said his side must use Thursday's embarrassing 3-0 defeat at Bournemouth in the Europa League to "not make the same mistakes" again.
The seven-time European champions fell behind to an early penalty by Justin Kluivert and then had goalkeeper Mike Maignan sent off for a foul on Tyler Adams, which made things easy for the home side.
Marcus Tavernier doubled their lead with a spot kick and Amine Adli sealed the win with a late free kick.
"It's difficult to talk about the performance," Amorim said.
"There really wasn't a contest. We need to learn from moments like these, realize that this is part of football, and accept that bad nights happen.
"It was a poor performance in every sense and from every perspective.
"But now, let's turn the page and focus on the league.
"We need to get back to Milan as quickly as possible to prepare for the match against Udinese (on Sunday); we'll talk about it once we're home".
It was a bad night for Italy's sides in Europe.
Juventus were held 2-2 at home by Rennes in the Europa League and Atalanta lost 2-0 to Ajax in Amsterdam in the Conference League.
Juventus are seventh in the Europa League table with seven points from three games while Milan are 24th with just three points.
Atalanta are 15th in the Conference League table with three points from two matches. (ANSA).
