Vivo has announced the global launch of the Vivo V80 after introducing the smartphone last week. The company plans to bring the device to Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and other markets, although availability, pricing, and specifications may vary by region.
The Vivo V80 features a high-refresh-rate AMOLED display, a large battery, and a camera system that includes a periscope telephoto lens. It also runs Android 17 and comes with a long-term software support commitment.
Vivo V80 Goes Global With 144Hz AMOLED Display and 7,200mAh Battery
The Vivo V80 comes with a 6.59-inch AMOLED display that offers a resolution of 1260 x 2750 pixels. The screen supports a 144Hz refresh rate for smoother scrolling, animations, and gaming.
Vivo also claims a peak brightness of 5,000 nits, which should help improve screen visibility in bright outdoor conditions.
The phone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor. It comes with 8GB of RAM and storage options of 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB.
The 128GB variant uses UFS 3.1 storage, while the 256GB and 512GB models feature the faster UFS 4.1 standard.
50MP Cameras With Periscope Zoom
The Vivo V80 offers a versatile camera setup. Its rear camera system includes a 50MP main sensor with optical image stabilisation (OIS), a 50MP periscope telephoto camera with OIS and 3x optical zoom, and an 8MP ultrawide camera.
The main camera’s stabilisation helps reduce blur caused by minor hand movements. Meanwhile, the periscope telephoto camera allows users to capture distant subjects with 3x optical zoom.
For selfies and video calls, the smartphone features a 50MP front camera.
Large Battery With 90W Fast Charging
The Vivo V80 packs a 7,200mAh battery, which should provide substantial capacity for daily use. The phone also supports 90W wired charging to reduce the time needed to recharge the battery.
Actual battery life and charging times may vary depending on usage, settings, and other conditions.
Android 17 and Long-Term Software Support
The Vivo V80 runs Android 17 with Vivo’s OriginOS 7 interface. The company promises four major Android updates and six years of security updates.
This support policy could make the phone a more appealing option for users who plan to keep their devices for several years.
Global Availability and Colours
Vivo will offer the V80 globally in four colour options: Starwish Purple, Wander Green, Sunrise Anthem, and Vast Gray.
The company has not announced a single global price or a specific release date for every market. Pricing, availability, and some specifications will depend on local market conditions and consumer preferences.
The Vivo V80 combines a high-refresh-rate display, a large battery, a 50MP periscope camera, and extended software support. However, buyers will need to wait for local announcements to confirm its price and availability in their respective markets.
