"This will allow the Contigo benefit to be provided to 100,000 more people," she added.
The Head of State made the announcement during the "Unlimited Talent: Recognition of Leadership and Achievement" ceremony.
This event honored 14 persons with disabilities for their careers and contributions in various fields.
During her speech, the Head of State said a truly great society is one that recognizes talent, respects differences, and provides opportunities for everyone.
In this regard, the top official emphasized that the Peruvian State has a responsibility to continue building a more inclusive country, where no one faces barriers to developing their abilities, exercising their rights, and achieving their dreams.
"We are aware that recognizing talent and perseverance is not enough. We have a responsibility to create better living conditions, ensure inclusive education, and provide the necessary tools so that no one is left behind," Fujimori stated.
"You are proof that disability does not define a person or determine how far they can go," she highlighted.
As part of the additional measures announced for this sector, the President reported on the distribution of educational materials produced in Braille.
The top official explained that these educational resources are to be delivered to schools as a priority before the rainy season associated with El Niño phenomenon, thus ensuring the continuity and quality of education for children and adolescents with disabilities.
