ADEN – The Yemeni Armed Forces announced the execution of a series of military strikes under the ongoing "Dawn of Yemen" operation, targeting Houthi field commanders, military reinforcements, vehicles, and strategic positions in what officials described as an effort to degrade the group's military capabilities and reduce security threats.
Brig. Gen. Majed Al-Nuzeili, spokesperson for the Yemeni Armed Forces, said the operations struck multiple Houthi military sites and movements, stressing that the strikes were carried out in accordance with the armed forces' approved operational plan.
According to Al-Nuzeili, the attacks form part of a sustained campaign aimed at limiting the Houthis' operational capabilities and disrupting military activities in areas under the group's control.
In a related development, the Saudi-led Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen announced on Friday that it had intercepted and destroyed a drone launched toward Saudi Arabia's Eastern Province. Coalition spokesperson Maj. Gen. Turki Al-Maliki said the aircraft was successfully neutralized before reaching its intended target.
Meanwhile, the international community renewed its concern over escalating regional security threats.
The United Nations Security Council reiterated its condemnation of continued Houthi attacks against Saudi Arabia, including assaults targeting civil aviation, energy infrastructure, and the recent attacks on King Khalid International Airport on Oct. 10 and 11, as well as strikes against facilities linked to Saudi Aramco.
Council members also underscored their rejection of threats to maritime navigation in the Red Sea and the Bab al-Mandab Strait, emphasizing the importance of safeguarding commercial shipping, protecting civilian crews, and ensuring the uninterrupted flow of international trade through one of the world's most strategic waterways.
The Security Council expressed solidarity with Saudi Arabia in the face of attacks targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure, reaffirming the Kingdom's right to defend itself in accordance with international law. The Council further called on the Houthi movement to halt attacks that threaten regional stability and international maritime security.
