“Dach is on IR, so when activated, EDM needs to make a roster move. Could just put Dickinson on IR retroactive to last Tuesday and he’d be eligible to play this coming Tuesday.”
1. This is excellent news as the Edmonton Oilers have had limited offensive thrust period the last two games, and almost none of it outside the McDavid-Draisaitl line.
Against Utah, Edmonton has just seven grade A shots. Against Los Angeles, Edmonton had just 11 Grade A shots. This for a team that has averaged about 16 Grade A shots per game over the past five seasons.
2. Of course, it’s one thing for players to get back in the line-up. How they perform is another issue. For example, Hyman returned from injury last November and was his old outstanding self. But when he got banged up in March, he played poorly by his standards before sitting out the last weeks of the regular season. When he came back for the playoffs, he was evidently still somewhat slowed by injury and continued his run of weak play.
More to come…
