DeSantis Warns Democrats Their Lawfare Obsession Against Musk Will Blow Up in Their Faces
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has a blunt message for Democrats already plotting investigations into Elon Musk the moment they regain power: voters remember exactly why they tossed you out last time.
In a post responding to Musk, DeSantis wrote, “Dems regaining control and then immediately reverting to lawfare against Musk will backfire — and will remind voters why they didn’t like the Democrats when they were in the majority the last time.”
Musk had already put the other side on notice. “Live by the sword, die by the sword,” he posted. “Those who pick fights with me should understand that I will find out who is really pulling the strings and come for them, not just their puppets …”
This is the same playbook Democrats ran for years: treat political opponents as criminals, drag them through endless investigations, and hope the process is the punishment. It worked until voters noticed the economy was a mess, the border was open, and the justice system looked like a political weapon. Now some of them want a sequel the second they get the gavels back.
Musk is not a quiet target. He has money, platforms, and zero interest in playing the usual Washington game of letting bureaucrats and committee staffers grind people down while the real decision-makers stay in the shadows.
DeSantis is simply pointing out the obvious political cost. When Democrats make Musk their next big enemy right after reclaiming power, they will hand Republicans a perfect reminder of the last time they ran the show. Most voters do not like it when their government spends more time hunting political foes than fixing problems.-DTP
