Guwahati, October 17: A doctor at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) has been detained by Bhangagarh Police following allegations of molestation by a young woman who visited the hospital to show her medical reports on October 15.
According to the complaint, the doctor allegedly touched the woman inappropriately, including her private parts, inside his cabin during the consultation. He had reportedly asked the family member accompanying her to wait outside.
Following the alleged incident, complaints were lodged at Bhangagarh Police Station and the Women’s Police Station in Guwahati.
Acting on the complaints, police detained the doctor, identified in reports as Dr Rishikesh Adhikari, for questioning.
