A source familiar with the development told SaharaReporters on Saturday that Jaruma was taken to the hospital by the Investigating Police Officer (IPO) after her condition required medical attention.
Social media personality, Hauwa Saidu Mohammed, popularly known as Jaruma, has reportedly been rushed to the National Hospital in Abuja over a breast-related health concern amid her prolonged detention by the police, SaharaReporters has gathered.
The development has raised concerns about the welfare of Jaruma, who has been in police custody since Monday over social media posts concerning an alleged disagreement involving Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, and a woman Jaruma described as one of his girlfriends.
A source familiar with the development told SaharaReporters on Saturday that Jaruma was taken to the hospital by the Investigating Police Officer (IPO) after her condition required medical attention.
The source, who visited the Federal Criminal Investigation Department (FCID), said she was informed that Jaruma was no longer at the facility because the IPO had taken her to the hospital shortly before her arrival.
The source expressed concerns about the development, calling for urgent intervention to ensure that Jaruma's health and welfare were prioritised.
The source said, "I have just been informed that she was rushed to the National Hospital because of a breast-related health concern reportedly linked to her prolonged detention.
"I am currently at FCID, but she is not here. I was told that the IPO took her to the hospital a short while ago. This development is deeply concerning. We need the necessary intervention to ensure her health and welfare are prioritised."
Jaruma's hospitalisation comes amid controversy over the administrative bail conditions imposed on her by the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre in Abuja.
Documents obtained by SaharaReporters showed that the police required two sureties: a federal civil servant not below Grade Level 15 and a business owner with landed property in the Federal Capital Territory.
The requirements also included identification documents, National Identification Number slips, passport photographs and employment or business records.
Sources familiar with the matter alleged that the conditions had proved difficult to meet, raising concerns about how quickly she could secure release.
A two-count charge sheet dated October 23, 2026, also indicated that the Inspector-General of Police had initiated criminal proceedings against her under Section 24 of the Cybercrimes Act, as amended in 2024.
The allegations concern her purported use of TikTok to transmit abusive messages, false allegations and videos relating to Rayan Ghassan Kamal, identified as Seyi Tinubu's personal assistant.
The allegations have not been established in court, and the charge sheet does not identify Seyi Tinubu as the complainant or establish that he personally ordered Jaruma's detention.
As concerns mount over her medical condition, attention shifts to her access to appropriate treatment and the next steps in the police investigation.
