MBABANE – The Eswatini Farmers Market delivered a masterclass in live entertainment, treating revellers to an unforgettable night where local brilliance met international star power.
Across both the Main Stage and the Texas Stage, the festival delivered pulsating, uninterrupted music that kept the fun lovers on their toes until the early hours. Every single artist who stepped into the spotlight defined what true stage presence means, leaving the crowd completely captivated.
Eswatini’s own creative heavyweights proved they can command any stage in the world. Gifted Kosie delivered a wholesome, high-energy performance alongside a troupe of energetic dancers whose choreography took the hype to fever pitch. Strikingly, Gifted Kosie’s commanding stage presence matched that of global superstar Uncle Waffles, from the way she handled the decks and also stepped in the stage to dance choreography with her dancers, who included content creator LaClicks.
The decks were equally secure in the hands of Eswatini’s finest in the game. Local heavyweights including DJ Zulu D, Bandora, AyaCity, Sgitha and many others curated masterclass sets. Oscar Mbo took over the decks and delivered a masterclass in the decks. His signature Deep House grooves resonated deeply with the audience, prompting a number of raised smartphones capturing every moment of his electrifying set. Clearly feeding off the crowd’s infectious energy, Oscar Mbo enjoyed himself, connecting with his fans.
In an exclusive interview, the star reflected on his deep-rooted bond with the kingdom. Noting that he has been visiting Eswatini for over seven years, with his most recent appearance coming during the FIFA final at the XChange Lounge & Shisanyama. He appreciated the lovely audience he finds in the different venues when invited to perform.
In a major teaser for music lovers, Oscar Mbo dropped a hint about an upcoming collaboration with a local creative: “Music and talent are unlimited, we connect with everyone and everywhere, and for a matter of fact, there is something I am doing with someone from Eswatini, and you will know,” he said.
Adding to the spectacle, Royal Musiq owned the stage with a high-energy dance choreography performance, flanked by dancers dressed in striking matching outfits that amplified the visual appeal of his set.
Closing out the main performances of international acts, Zee Nxumalo stepped up to seal the festival’s status for the night.
True to form and channelling the iconic ‘lazy walk’ famously joked about by Somizi as she prepared for a performance, she took to the stage looking like an absolute princess in an all-white outfit.
Backed by her dynamic dance crew, Zee Nxumalo tore through a hit-filled set that included crowd favourites like ‘Thula Mabota’, ‘Awe Mah’ and ‘Ama Gear’. Dancing with relentless energy from the first beat to the last, she left everything on the stage, providing the ultimate punctuation mark to a phenomenal evening.
