The communication highlighted that meeting with political leaders under these circumstances would not be appropriate. It was further emphasized that under the constitutional framework, the Supreme Court cannot meddle or interfere in the executive government's functioning on the administrative side. Opposition leaders, including Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge, had planned to submit a memorandum seeking action regarding alleged irregularities. The CJI informed the opposition leaders that if they wish to seek redress or protect fundamental rights, they may approach the apex court through the formal judicial process by filing a petition in the pending sub judice matter.
