Nigeria’s U-17 women’s national team forward, Oluwakemi Adegbuyi, has vowed to score more goals at the ongoing 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco following her impressive performance in the group stage.
Adegbuyi opened her scoring account in the Flamingos’ second group match against Puerto Rico, helping Nigeria secure a 2-0 victory.
The 16-year-old forward was also on target in Nigeria’s 3-1 win over defending champions North Korea in Rabat on Friday night.
She could have added another goal against the Asian side, but the effort was ruled out following a foul in the build-up.
Speaking after the match, Adegbuyi expressed her determination to continue finding the net as Nigeria progress in the competition.
“I hope to score more goals,” she said.
Reflecting on the victory over North Korea, the forward added: “We came out to play against North Korea and we got the three points.”
The Flamingos’ victory over the defending champions strengthened their campaign at the tournament, while Adegbuyi’s contributions have made her one of the players to watch as the competition progresses.
