For the 2026 Ohio high school football regular season, this weekend is it — Week 10, with the state playoffs set to begin next week.
Akron-area teams will play in 22 games this weekend, including 19 on Friday, Oct. 23, when some will be doubly important as teams battle for league championships as well as playoff berths and postseason positioning.
Our top Week 10 games include Highland (8-1, 6-0) playing at Hudson (7-2, 4-2) with a chance to clinch the Suburban League National Conference title; Wadsworth (8-1, 5-1), coming off its first regular-season loss in 19 games, hosting Nordonia (8-1, 5-1) and needing a win to earn a first-round playoff bye; Manchester (5-4, 4-1) playing at Northwest (7-2, 3-2) with a chance to clinch a playoff spot and wrap up at least a tie for the Principals Athletic Conference crown; and Norton (8-1, 5-1) playing at Cloverleaf (8-1, 6-0) for a share of the Metro Athletic Conference title.
