Turn your iPad into a laptop with inateck AceTouch iPad Keyboard Cases

An iPad is a great gadget to have in your arsenal – until you need to type more than a few lines of text. Everyday scrolling and entertainment are easy with a touch screen, but when it’s time for productivity, a keyboard goes from nice-to-have to must-have.

An iPad paired with a lightweight keyboard case can be a great middle ground between a pure tablet and a full laptop. The challenge is finding a keyboard with enough flexibility and functionality without being so cumbersome that you may as well just haul around a laptop.

Founded in Germany with the idea to “enhance your digital life,” tech brand inateck now operates globally across more than 100 countries. inateck’s AceTouch series of iPad keyboard cases features lightweight, magnetic designs that are large enough for functionality’s sake, while still maintaining enough portability to pop into your backpack. The lineup includes versions for smaller and larger iPads that can help you transition between everyday use, work, school, and travel.

What to look for in an iPad keyboard case

If you’ve ever tried to write an email without a true keyboard on your iPad, you know the true value of a keyboard case. But before you buy the first one you find in a nice color, it’s important to consider how you’ll be using it and which features matter most.

A keyboard that keeps your iPad’s slim profile

If you plan on transporting your iPad and keyboard case to classes, between meetings, on flights, or around town, portability is crucial. Weight and thickness will become important specifications to account for, especially if you already rely on your iPad’s compact design and packability. A keyboard should add functionality without making the entire setup cumbersome.

The inateck AceTouch KB04122 weighs just 450g and measures 0.3 inches thick, making it a sleek and convenient addition. You’ll appreciate its size when it can slide into a work bag or backpack without weighing you down or hogging valuable real estate.

The ability to switch between tablet and laptop modes

You need a keyboard case that adapts to how you use your iPad throughout the day. Staying locked in laptop mode isn’t a realistic plan, so finding a design that easily toggles between use cases without removing the entire case is key.

inateck’s AceTouch series of keyboard cases all feature a magnetic, detachable design that makes it simple to switch between typing and full touch-screen use in just one second. The back panel kickstand supports five viewing angles from 20° to 70° and both horizontal and vertical orientations, so your iPad adapts to whatever you’re doing, with or without the keyboard attached.

Comfortable typing and responsive trackpad

If you want to add easy typing capabilities to your iPad, the keyboard itself should be the main event. A full-size layout with iPadOS shortcuts, responsive keys, and a precise edge-to-edge trackpad offers functionality that you would expect from a dedicated keyboard.

With every inateck AceTouch keyboard case, you’ll get comfortable typing from scissor-switch keys, which provide a stable, responsive feel while remaining relatively quiet. Plus, the multitouch trackpad supports palm-rejection, so when you’re working from a cramped airplane tray, you don’t need to worry about accidental interference from your hands. The clickable surface also supports iPadOS gestures for intuitive navigation that feels familiar to anyone accustomed to working on a laptop.

inateck AceTouch KB04122 is built for everyday iPad use

If portability is your main concern, the inateck AceTouch iPad Keyboard Case provides the convenience and functionality of a full keyboard without the bulk. The USB-charging keyboard magnetically attaches to its protective case, without any clips or complicated connections. Once attached, it folds closed easily for storage and flips down into a traditional laptop-style setup. When you want to switch into tablet mode, the magnetic connection makes it simple to detach the keyboard and use the rear kickstand in either horizontal or vertical orientation.

Lightweight enough to go with you anywhere

The inateck AceTouch KB04122 keyboard case is inateck’s lightest model at just 450g, weighing about the same as a large coffee. At 0.3 inches thick, this wireless keyboard case is designed for everyday carry, whether that means frequent travel, working out of coffee shops, or coming along to class to take notes. With the case, you’ll maintain the portability of your iPad while adding the full functionality of a keyboard.

Easy transition between laptop and tablet modes

A keyboard case that requires multiple steps and maneuvers to switch between tasks is a huge barrier. The inateck AceTouch KB04122’s magnetic connection means that switching between tablet and laptop mode takes only a second. Attach the keyboard with one magnetic snap for laptop mode; detach the keyboard for tablet mode. It’s really that simple.

From there, you can use the kickstand to recline your screen while watching a movie, prop it upright for typing, lean it way back to use your tablet for drawing, or just flip the back case closed for handheld reading. Whether the keyboard is attached or detached, there’s a wide range of activity options.

Full-size keyboard with iPad shortcuts

You won’t need to adjust your typing to a cramped keyboard just because you’re working from an iPad. The inateck AceTouch KB04122 has a full-size, six-row keyboard so you can type naturally, with 14 dedicated iOS shortcut keys that you’re already used to. The clickable 98x55mm edge-to-edge trackpad supports palm rejection for precise control and has fully adjustable touch and scroll sensitivity settings so you can adapt everything to your preferences.

Nine colors to match your personal style

Functionality is crucial, but the importance of aesthetics cannot be underestimated. The AceTouch KB04122 comes in nine different colorways that complement the sleek, minimalist design. From a bright butter yellow and cool graphite to vibrant pink and classic cloud white, there are nine options to match any style.

This inateck AceTouch iPad Keyboard Case is compatible with the following models: iPad A16; iPad 10; iPad Air 11” M4; iPad Air 11” M3; iPad Air 6; iPad Air 5; iPad Air 4; iPad Pro 11” 2022; iPad Pro 11” 2021; iPad Pro 11” 2020; and iPad Pro 11” 2018.

If you have a larger iPad, the 13-inch inateck AceTouch keyboard case models will be a better fit, each with additional features built for the larger screen display. The AceTouch KB04122-13A keyboard case is made for the 13-inch iPad Air and 12.9-inch iPad Pro, while the AceTouch KB04122-13P keyboard case is for the 13-inch iPad Pro.

Both models feature an oversized 126x82mm trackpad for more space to navigate your larger screen. The full-size six-row keyboard adds seven backlit keys to make typing in low-light scenarios, such as dark classrooms or dimmed plane cabins, easier on your eyes. The top of the case features a hidden Apple Pencil holder, so your stylus is within reach whenever you might need it. These thoughtful additional details make the larger AceTouch models a great fit for anyone looking to get more out of a 13-inch iPad.
