BTS has surpassed 10 billion streams on Spotify in a single year, the first group worldwide to do so, Big Hit Music said on Oct. 16.
The group passed the 10 billion mark in cumulative plays on the world's largest music streaming platform this year. Global solo artists including Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande and Bad Bunny had previously crossed the same threshold.
The group's cumulative plays this year rose 122% from 4.5 billion a year earlier. The milestone was driven by "ARIRANG," the group's fifth full-length album released in March, which logged more than 5 billion plays. It is the most-streamed album on Spotify among new releases this year.
BTS won Artist of the Year at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards Japan on Oct. 14. The winners were announced in advance, and the ceremony will be held at Tokyo Dome on Oct. 29.
