ZELENSKYY TO ELON MUSK: RESTORE STARLINK—“PEOPLE WILL DIE”
During his interview with Piers Morgan, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy delivered a direct warning to Elon Musk over the sudden restrictions placed on Ukraine’s Starlink service.
“It’s a big mistake,” Zelenskyy said.
When Morgan asked whether people were dying because of the decision, Zelenskyy answered without hesitation: “Of course, people will die.”
The restrictions reportedly disconnect military Starlink terminals when they move faster than approximately 160 kilometers per hour, disrupting critical Ukrainian drone, reconnaissance and air-defense operations. These are not entertainment systems or business tools. They support soldiers protecting cities while Russian missiles and attack drones are in the air.
Zelenskyy said he hoped the disruption was a mistake or a major technical problem, but his request was simple and urgent: “We are asking to switch it on.”
When one private company can suddenly weaken a country’s defenses in the middle of an invasion, the consequences are not measured in lost signals. They are measured in human lives.
