Kaduna-based Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side Ranchers Bees have confirmed the departure of Technical Adviser Usman Abdullahi and some members of the club’s technical crew, validating a report published by Blueprint.ng on Saturday.
The club announced on Sunday that it had parted ways with Abdullahi and the affected members of the technical crew by mutual agreement, bringing their respective spells with the Kaduna-based side to an end.
In a statement, Ranchers Bees thanked Abdullahi and the departing technical staff for their efforts and contributions during their time at the club, while wishing them success in their future endeavours.
The announcement follows Blueprint’s Saturday report, which disclosed that Ranchers Bees had dissolved their technical crew following a 3-1 defeat to Shooting Stars.
The newspaper had also reported that the club was preparing to appoint an interim coach to take charge of the team as management sought to address its disappointing performance and restore stability.
Sunday’s official announcement now confirms the major shake-up within the club’s technical department, although the club described the separation as a mutual agreement.
Shooting Stars defeat precedes technical shake-up
In its report published on Saturday, Blueprint disclosed that the decision to dissolve the technical crew followed Ranchers Bees’ 3-1 defeat to Shooting Stars, a result that heightened concerns over the team’s performance.
The newspaper also reported that the development came shortly after an ultimatum reportedly issued by the club’s General Manager, Alhaji Kabiru Muazu, popularly known as 2Pac, over the team’s performance.
Although the club had yet to issue an official statement when Blueprint published its report, a reliable source had informed the newspaper that the technical crew had been dissolved and that an interim coach was expected to take charge.
The source did not disclose when the interim appointment would be announced or whether the club had begun negotiations with potential candidates for a substantive position.
Ranchers Bees’ announcement on Sunday has now provided official confirmation of the departure of Abdullahi and some members of his technical crew.
However, the club has not publicly attributed the separation solely to the defeat against Shooting Stars, maintaining that both parties reached a mutual agreement.
Ranchers Bees appreciate departing technical crew
In announcing the development, Ranchers Bees acknowledged the efforts and contributions of Abdullahi and the other departing technical staff during their time at the club.
The club also wished them success in their future endeavours as both parties begin a new chapter.
The departure marks a significant development for the Kaduna side as it considers the next phase of its technical leadership and seeks to improve its performances in the NPFL.
For the players, the transition presents the challenge of maintaining focus and preparing for forthcoming fixtures while the club works towards establishing a new technical arrangement.
The manner in which the club manages the transition could prove important in maintaining stability within the dressing room and ensuring that preparations for upcoming matches are not disrupted.
Attention shifts to interim appointment
Following the confirmation of the departures, attention is expected to turn to the identity of the coach who will lead Ranchers Bees in the interim and the club’s plans for a substantive technical appointment.
Blueprint had reported on Saturday that an interim coach was expected to take charge following the dissolution of the technical crew.
However, Ranchers Bees’ Sunday announcement did not name a replacement or provide details of when a new technical leadership structure would be unveiled.
The club’s next decision will be crucial in ensuring continuity in training, match preparation and the management of the squad during the transition.
Supporters will also be looking for an improved response on the pitch following the disappointing defeat to Shooting Stars, which preceded the reported shake-up.
While the departure of Abdullahi and some members of his crew marks a new chapter for Ranchers Bees, the immediate challenge for the club will be to stabilise the team and translate changes in technical leadership into improved performances and results.
Sunday’s announcement also brings to a close the uncertainty surrounding the status of the technical adviser and some members of his crew, following Blueprint’s report a day earlier.
