Pritty Vishy's birthday appearance at a Nairobi nightclub took an unexpected turn when a fan in the crowd shouted Stevo Simple Boy's name just as she was wrapping up a heartfelt thank-you speech, bringing the celebratory mood to a grinding halt.

The moment was captured in a vertically-filmed clip showing a festive indoor venue decked out with neon diamond signage, string lights and hanging greenery. Vishy was on the microphone addressing the crowd when the interruption landed.
"Thank you so much for inviting me. You know me and Katie, actually I've never met. This is the first time when you actually invited me to do it," she said, clearly in good spirits before the crowd erupted.

The shout of "Stevo Simple Boy!" from a fan triggered laughter and murmurs throughout the room. Vishy, visibly irritated, stopped mid-sentence, shot a look towards the crowd, and the DJ lowered the music as the atmosphere turned tense. She attempted to regain her footing.
Why Stevo's name still follows Pritty
Vishy, irst entered the public eye in 2021 after going public about her relationship with Kibera-born rapper Stevo Simple Boy, widely known for his hit Mihadarati and the catchphrase Freshi Barida. Their split played out messily in the open, with Stevo citing his vow of celibacy before marriage, while Pritty pointed to interference from his family.
The two have remained linked in the public imagination ever since. In July 2026, Pritty claimed on the Iko Nini Podcast that Stevo turned down a KSh 1 million influencer deal specifically to avoid working with her, saying, "Hanipendi... ako na grudge na mimi because I broke up with him." Stevo dismissed the claims.
Earlier in the year, after Pritty's debut DJ set collapsed due to faulty equipment and left her in tears, Stevo publicly offered sympathy, telling her:
"Najua kuna changamoto mingi lakini usife moyo."
Pritty did not take it warmly and later posted a boxing-themed graphic that fans widely interpreted as a challenge directed at him.
Pritty has pushed back on Stevo's fame narrative
Pritty has consistently rejected the narrative that Stevo made her who she is. In 2022, she fired back at a fan who wrote "Yeye ata ndio alikupea fame you ungrateful kienyeji," responding:
"I worked hard for it, the people who were close to me at that time can testify. Instead, the so-called msanii is the one who is ungrateful here."
She has also previously described being referred to as Stevo's ex as "Aibu kuitwa ex," translating roughly to an embarrassment.
The nightclub clip has since gone viral, with fans split between those who feel the heckler crossed a line on what should have been her night, and those who argue Stevo's name will always be part of her story as far as Kenyan audiences are concerned. Stevo had not publicly reacted to the video.
