GREEN BAY, Wis. — Cowboys kick and punt returner KaVontae Turpin suffered damage to rib cartilage on the opening kickoff.
Turpin was replaced on kickoffs by Tyler Goodson, who had five returns for 122 yards.
Jonathan Mingo took over punt returns and finished with three for 18 yards.
Weakside linebacker Dee Winters left the game with an Achilles strain.
The Cowboys used a combination of players at linebacker with Jaishawn Barham and Shemar James sharing time at middle linebacker. Also, Justin Barron saw time at weakside linebacker.
Quarterback Dak Prescott was hit seven times and sacked once in the game. He drew three roughing the passer penalties that extended drives. Prescott said he was sore and he didn’t undergo any imaging.
“No it was just a good hit,” Prescott said of the pounding he took. “I’ll be fine. A little bruise.”
Cornerback Joey Porter Jr. went in and out of the contest nursing a balky ankle. Porter was first listed on the injury report two weeks ago with the issue and continues to play through it.
When Porter went out, Shavon Revel Jr. and Ameer Speed took over for him.
