Back in July, a leaker suggested the Apple iPhone Duo would have a fairly small battery. That prediction from Digital Chat Station turned out to be accurate. Apple has now confirmed through the EU energy label that the foldable iPhone comes with a 4,883 mAh battery.
This means the iPhone Duo’s battery is a bit bigger than the 4,800 mAh battery in the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 ($1,699 on Amazon), even though Samsung’s foldable phone is much thinner and lighter.
The Huawei Pura X Max, which is just as thick as the iPhone Duo, has a bigger 5,300 mAh battery. The iPhone 18 Pro Max also comes with a larger 5,391 mAh battery.
The EU energy label says this battery should last for 51 hours and 30 minutes, which is more than ten hours less than the iPhone 18 Pro Max. However, this kind of battery life usually only happens with light use.
Apple says the battery will last for more than 1,000 charge cycles before its capacity drops to 80 percent. If you fully charge the phone every day, you’ll need to replace the battery in just under three years, which costs $229.
The iPhone Duo is IP68-certified and has the same drop resistance and repairability ratings as the iPhone 18 Pro Max. These ratings come from Apple, not the EU. We’ll only know how durable the iPhone Duo really is once it starts shipping.
