Sipho Ngwenya, better known as Psyfo, is swapping the studio and the set for the open road. The former Generations actor and YoTV presenter has launched a new docu-reality series, Southern Exploration, in which he travels across South Africa on a deeply personal quest to reconnect with himself and figure out what comes next.
According to News24, Psyfo has had an impressive run in the entertainment industry as an actor, musician and television presenter. Most recently, he spent close to 12 years at Canal+ before his departure from the company in June 2026. Rather than jumping straight into his next professional move, he chose to take a step back and use travel as a form of reflection.
Psyfo hits the road for southern exploration
The series kicked off during the week of 12 October 2026, with new episodes rolled out weekly on his social media platforms. Among the locations featured so far are the Valley of Desolation in Graaff-Reinet and the Cango Caves in Oudtshoorn, two of South Africa's most striking natural landmarks.
For Psyfo, the trip is far more than a sightseeing exercise. He has spoken about how time away from his usual circle has given him the space to find peace and sit with questions he rarely had the room to confront while caught up in the demands of a busy career.
