At times, the hype surrounding JoJo Boumtje Boumtje seems a bit concerning. He’s only 17, after all, and hype is a terrible thing to have to live up to for most people.
Not all people, though, and even though we’ve only seen him play live once, so far, anyway, Boumtje Boumtje has a chance of living up to the hype.
Still, at times it gets kind of crazy. Latest example: one anonymous NBA General Manager sees Boumtje Boumtje as the best international prospect not in the league.
It’s kind of a misnomer. Yes, he played in Spain, but Boumtje Boumtje is an American citizen whose father’s job took the family overseas when Boumtje Boumtje was of high school age.
Even so, that’s pretty remarkable. It’s not like this is 1990, when international talent had not developed to the extent that it has today.
