The Milwaukee Brewers are one victory away from the World Series.
Using the long ball, the top-seeded Brewers defeated the second-seeded Los Angeles Dodgers, 6-2, in Game 3 to go up 3-0 in the National League Championship Series.
The Brewers' first opportunity to punch their ticket to the Fall Classic will come in Game 4 on Thursday, Oct. 15, back at Dodger Stadium.
One year after being swept by the Dodgers in the NLCS, the Brewers can return the favor to the two-time reigning World Series champions.
The Brewers put themselves in this position after a Game 3 comeback that saw them hit three home runs off starter Blake Snell, two of which came on back-to-back batters in the decisive seventh inning.
The Brewers started off with a bang when Jackson Chourio drilled the first pitch he saw from Snell for a leadoff home run. Then the Brewers bats went silent before they erupted in the seventh with two more home runs to finally get to Snell.
Snell had retired 14 straight before walking Andrew Vaughn. That brought up Jake Bauers, who delivered his second epic at-bat in this series. This time, he didn't walk like in Game 2 when he worked 12 pitchers. Bauers, the Brewers' home run leader in 2026, crushed a bomb on the 11th pitch to the right-field seats to give Milwaukee a 3-2 lead. Then, Garrett Mitchell followed it with a home run of his own with a no doubter.
The Brewers scored five runs across the seventh, eighth and ninth innings and Trevor Megill pitched a four-out save to put the Brewers on the doorstep of their first World Series in 44 years.
