Mori is a relaxing companion created to help calm the mind and soul while engaging with people through sounds and motion in response to audio, visual and touch inputs, without screens. It uses VIBE (Vitality, Interaction, Bonding, and Emotion) technology to drive its inner state, enabling it to provide changing responses during interactions with nearby people and pets.
The companion can be curious, shy, or playful depending on the mood it senses with its camera and microphone. Mori reacts differently based on the time of day and whether a person is familiar or a stranger, using nature-inspired sounds and musical tunes.
Importantly, it uses its shared history with individuals to determine how it will react through small movements and eye movements. The memories it has are plastic, so each Mori develops a unique personality.
Owners will rest assured that their unique companions will not disappear should the electronics break because the company can migrate their 'souls' to new bodies.
The Mori is activated using a companion smartphone app during setup, which includes setting sleep times. The robot does not upload captured images or audio, which are processed only locally. The cameras are off when its head retracts, and double-tapping to enter lamp mode fully disables the microphones.
