ISLAMABAD – Applicants seeking general document attestation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) in Pakistan can now use a single online account to submit applications, obtain document approval, schedule appointments and pay the applicable fees.
The procedure allows applicants to apply for either service through the same portal, with multiple documents permitted under a single application. The process covers personal, educational, experience-related, legal and commercial documents.
How to Apply for MOFA General Attestation
Applicants must first register on the online portal or sign in to an existing account, verify their email addresses and complete their applicant profiles.
Once registration is complete, they can select apostille or general attestation and submit the required documents.
After submission, the application and documents are reviewed by the relevant Foreign Affairs Liaison Office (FALO) officer.
Applicants must wait for the officer’s approval before proceeding to the appointment stage.
Once the documents have been approved, applicants can book an available appointment at the FALO office through the portal.
The fee challan becomes accessible only after the appointment has been booked, allowing applicants to pay the applicable charges online.
Office Visit and Document Collection
Following the online application, approval, appointment booking and fee payment, applicants must visit the FALO office on their scheduled date and submit their documents.
Attested documents can be collected from the delivery counter within one to three hours of the office visit.
Applicants should ensure that their profiles and submitted documents are complete and that they follow the required steps in the correct order to avoid delays.
General Attestation Fees
The general attestation fee in Pakistan is Rs10 per document for personal documents, educational documents and experience certificates, while legal and commercial documents cost Rs60 per document.
