President Bola Tinubu has expressed condolences over the reported death of former Delta State Governor Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan, paying tribute to his years of public service and continued involvement in the state’s affairs after leaving office.
In a condolence message released on Monday, Tinubu said Uduaghan remained committed to public service even after completing his two terms as governor in 2015, contributing to democratic governance and the development of Delta State.
Uduaghan, who reportedly died at the age of 71, governed Delta State from 2007 to 2015.
The President also recalled the late politician’s earlier roles in the state government, including his service as Commissioner for Health and Secretary to the State Government before he became governor.
According to Tinubu, Uduaghan’s eight years as governor placed him at the centre of Delta State’s political and developmental history.
He noted that the former governor pursued initiatives aimed at improving infrastructure, healthcare delivery and the general welfare of residents during his time in office.

The President urged the people of Delta State to draw comfort from Uduaghan’s years of service and the relationships he established across Nigeria’s political and social landscape.
“During this period, he pursued developmental strides to improve infrastructure, healthcare delivery, and the overall welfare of Deltans,” Tinubu said.
“At this difficult time, I urge the people of Delta State to draw strength from the late governor’s years of service and the enduring relationships he built across the political and social terrain of our country,” he added.
