The Korea SMEs and Startups Agency is accepting applications for its Regulatory Free Zone Investor Relations Day, an event designed to help companies operating in regulatory free zones and global special zones attract private investment.
The Ministry of SMEs and Startups and KOSME said on the 20th that they are recruiting regulatory free zone and global special zone operators to take part in the 15th Regulatory Free Zone IR-DAY, to be held in Seoul in December. The event was launched in 2022 to give companies commercializing demonstration technologies in the zones a chance to secure private funding.
KOSME plans to strengthen investment links for zone operators through a partnership with Korea Venture Investment Corp. (KVIC). Drawing on KVIC's pool of specialists, the agency will recruit investment analysts by sector to assess participating companies' business performance and IR presentations from an investor's perspective. Participants will also receive feedback on the assessments, part of an effort to build their fundraising capabilities.
Applications close on the 23rd. KOSME will select 10 companies through a review process. Those chosen will receive tailored consulting in November on storytelling techniques and the preparation of pitch decks and other materials needed for IR presentations. The aim is to go beyond simply matching companies with investors and instead develop participants' IR skills to the point where they translate into actual investment.
"The fact that the Regulatory Free Zone IR-DAY has continued for several years reflects sustained interest from both companies and investment institutions," said Ban Jung-sik, KOSME's executive director for regional innovation. "We hope many zone operators will apply for an event that supports investment links for demonstration technologies."
Further details, including how to apply, are available from KOSME, and inquiries can be directed to its regional innovation business division.
