Commerce operating system Shoplazza says it is teaming with TikTok to “support new agentic commerce shopping experiences.”
The collaboration is designed to shorten the journey between product discovery and purchase and help merchants capitalize on the demand generated by their content and advertising, the companies said in a Monday (Oct. 19) news release.
“As platforms automate more decisions, performance increasingly depends on how well data, creative and checkout work together,” Chao Xu, director at Shoplazza, said in the release. “TikTok’s new shopping experiences make it easier to buy while interest is fresh, helping merchants turn that interest into revenue and use each transaction to inform smarter marketing decisions.”
The announcement follows TikTok’s recent introduction of its Buy Direct and Shopping Assistant, which features Shoplazza as a commerce and payment partner.

As the name implies, Buy Direct allows consumers to make purchases directly from brands within TikTok, without being redirected to an outside storefront. It uses the Universal Commerce Protocol (UCP) to link to merchant systems, while brands remain the merchant of record.
Shopping Assistant addresses product queries with merchant-supplied information on product pages within TikTok’s in-app browser. Customers can find the details they need before moving to check out on the merchant’s website within the same browser.
“For merchants, a shorter purchase journey can help protect the value of their customer acquisition spending,” per the news release. “Redirects and repeated forms add friction just as a shopper is ready to buy. Losing that purchase means losing potential revenue after already paying to attract the customer.”
In other agentic AI commerce news, according to PYMNTS Intelligence, artificial intelligence is becoming a part of the shopping journey for members of Generation X, though at a more measured pace.
Research from the October report “Gen X Clicks, Then Commits: How to Win the Store Sale” found 18% of these consumers typically began their online retail research using an AI tool, compared with 28% of millennials.
“Among Gen X consumers who used Gen AI to discover what to buy, the tool mix looks different from millennials,” the report said. “Sixty-seven percent of Gen X AI users used Gemini and 46% named it most helpful, ahead of ChatGPT, used by 48% and named most helpful by 34%. Millennials ranked them the other way around.”
For 34% of Gen X consumers who shop using artificial intelligence, the technology has entirely or mostly replaced their earlier research methods, versus 38% of millennials. But for most Gen X users, AI is still a secondary opinion, not a first stop.
