Rehan claimed the venue gave him barely 30 minutes to take down 74 artworks, citing political context and timing, even removing an image featuring the Indian flag. Terming the action an act of political bias that curtails freedom of expression, he stated that around 40 artworks remain displayed in largely bare rooms. Priyanka Gandhi backed her son, remarking that those in power who fear expression have already lost their power. The Congress party has criticised the move, while an official response from Bikaner House is awaited.
