Haaland broke the deadlock two-and-a-half minutes later before sublime finishes from substitute Jeremy Doku and Rayan Cherki left many inside Anfield stunned.
Speaking after the game, the City striker was of the opinion that the atmosphere was no different than to what he has experienced during the Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp era.
