QUETTA – Deputy Commissioner West Quetta has imposed a ban on private schools collecting fees during winter holidays, directing educational institutions to comply with a Balochistan High Court ruling.
An official notification has been issued in light of the court’s decision, with Deputy Commissioner Munir Ahmed Durrani instructing private schools to ensure full compliance with the judicial orders.
According to officials, strict action will be taken against private schools found collecting fees during the winter vacations in violation of the notification.
Authorities have warned that schools charging winter vacation fees could face cancellation of their registration and sealing of their premises.
The deputy commissioner has also urged parents to promptly report complaints regarding the collection of vacation fees to the Deputy Commissioner’s Office or the relevant education department authorities.
Officials said the complaints would help ensure timely action against schools violating the court’s decision.
Expected Winter Holidays Schedule
The Balochistan Education Department used to divide its winter vacations for school into two zones (Cold Regions and Warm Regions).
In cold regions, the winter holidays typically run for over two months and they usually begin in mid December.
In warm regions, authorities typically announce a shorter break, lasting for 10 days.
