Brown is being challenged by Mitchell Tweel, who has represented Ward 4 in the capital city since 1994, and by another former city councillor, Cecil Villard.
Also running for mayor in Charlottetown are Daniel Cousins, Anthony Fitzpatrick, Daniel Mullen and Amir Zuccolo.
Ward 1 in Charlottetown will have a new face on council after Deputy Mayor Alanna Jankov chose not to re-offer. Seeking to replace her is former city councillor Kim Devine, as well as Sasha Andric, Andrea Battison and Matt Pelletier.
Justin Muttart and Norman Beck will both return to council in wards 2 and 3 respectfully, as both were acclaimed.
Chasing Tweel’s old seat in Ward 4 is Ted Kitson, Ryan Mann, Andee Morgan, Kenneth Murnaghan and Rima Rashed.
Kevin Ramsay is looking to return to council in Ward 5 and will be challenged by Tazul Riad.
Ward 6 in Charlottetown is up for grabs since Bob Doiron is not re-offering. Former Liberal MLA Doug Currie and former long-time Charlottetown staffer Sue Fraser are seeking to fill the seat.
John MacAleer was acclaimed and will return to council in Ward 7.
Trevor MacKinnon is attempting to return to council in Ward 8 and will face Corey Driscoll in the race for a council seat.
Julie McCabe is also trying to return in Ward 9 and is up against challengers Kapil Dev Chauhan, Jay Patel and Jaime Tinoco.
Veteran councillor Terry Bernard will try and get re-elected in Ward 10 but is facing Ryan Cooke on the ballot.
In Summerside, all but Wards 5 and 6, along with the mayor’s chair, have been elected by acclamation.
Cory Snow, who has been acting mayor since Sept. 1, faces longtime former mayor, Basil Stewart.

Returning incumbent councillors include: Bruce MacDougall in Ward 1, Justin Doiron in Ward 2, Nicholas Cameron in Ward 3 and Carrie Adams in Ward 8.
Ward 4, which was vacated by Snow so he could run for mayor, has been filled by Pete Peters, a local volunteer firefighter and long-time financial services officer with Consolidated Credit Union.
Ward 7’s seat has gone to former mayor and local businessman Bill Martin. The incumbent, Rick Morrison, decided not to reoffer following a single term on council.
That leaves Wards 5 and 6, each with two candidates.
Ward 5 is currently held by Ken Trenholm and is contested by Tim Hockin. The incumbent for Ward 6 is Norma McColeman, who is being challenged by Mark Greenan.
Minerva McCourt, who has been serving on council since 2003 and has served as the town’s mayor since 2014, will return to the chief elected position as she ran unchallenged for mayor and has been acclaimed.

Cornwall has an open ward system to elect councillors with voters selecting the top six names.
Up for consideration are Corey Frizzell, Cory Stevenson, Chantal Batchilder, Rita Campbell, Dean Martin, Steven Campbell and Chase Currie.
