San Cisco
Perth’s indie darlings San Cisco are back with a double whammy: a new single, Miles Away, and an Australian regional tour. The sugary pop bop arrives with a music video shot in 16mm by filmmaker Levi Cranston, in locations including the WHAC wheat exhibition in the CBD and Capri Restaurant in Fremantle, and is described as “being together, but alone, loving someone deeply while feeling them retreat somewhere you cannot follow”. The tour kicks off in Melbourne and wraps in Canberra, with a stop at Freo Beerfest on November 14. Fremantle tickets available at fremantle.beerfestivals.com.au.

Bar Lyla
Sonny’s in Mount Hawthorn has spent the past few years filling afternoons with shared plates and curated wines. Now, its team has opened a sibling, Bar Lyla, designed for after-hours shenanigans with a more intimate space, focused on its bar offering. There will be a small menu, including a kefir milk bun served with fermented honey, kefir butter and a selection of foraged herbs and flowers, and a drink selection of classic cocktails, eclectic spirits and interesting wines. Find Lyla at 155 Scarborough Beach Rd in Mount Hawthorn.

Nessi
It seems the Perth fashion scene has added another string to its bow with local designer Mikayla Wearne launching her own ready-to-wear fashion brand, Nessi, inspired by her late mother Vanessa. The debut collection is made in Australia in small quantities and cut from natural fibres, so it’s strong on both the sustainable and style fronts. We love to see it. Check out her designs at nessi.au.

Beyond the Horizon
COMO The Treasury’s afternoon tea is entering a new era with the introduction of a menu inspired by the coastline and landscapes of Cape Arid National Park.
