The appointment comes a year after Proctor joined the firm as the division's first Private Wealth Adviser. In that time, Athletes & Creators has grown from a single adviser into a team, added specialist tax, cross-border and technology support, and built relationships across professional sport and the creator economy. The promotion gives the division a dedicated leader accountable for bringing those people, expertise and resources together as it grows.
For clients whose careers move fast and whose finances cross borders, that combination of lived experience and professional discipline at the top of the division is the point.
From The Pitch To The Planning Desk
Jamie Proctor spent nearly two decades as a professional footballer in the English leagues. Alongside his playing career he studied at three universities, earning a first-class degree in Professional Sports Writing and Broadcasting and a degree in Business and Accounting, before moving into financial services and qualifying as a regulated financial planner.
He holds the CII Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning (DipPFS) and is a member of the Chartered Insurance Institute. He joined Skybound Wealth in September 2025 as the first Private Wealth Adviser in the newly launched Athletes & Creators division, advising athletes, creators and their families on the decisions that shape life during and beyond a high-performance career.
That background matters because the decisions his clients face are ones he has made himself: contract changes, moves between clubs and countries, periods without income and the moment a playing career ends before a second one has begun. He brings that perspective alongside, not instead of, formal financial qualifications.
A Year Of Building
Athletes & Creators launched in August 2025 to serve professionals whose careers peak early, whose income is volatile and whose lives often involve more than one country. The division's first year has been spent putting in place the people and the infrastructure that kind of client needs.
Since launch, the division has:
- Added a dedicated Cross-Border Support Desk, formalising support for relocations, residency changes and international income that previously sat across Skybound's global advisory network.
- Introduced a global tax-planning capability, led by Skybound's Group Head of Tax Planning, so that tax sits alongside investment, protection and long-term planning from the outset.
- Fully integrated Skybound's proprietary Plume technology, giving advisers and clients a coordinated view of income, assets and plans across jurisdictions, with the MoneyMap forecasting tool to model how a change in circumstances could affect the longer-term position.
- Expanded its advisory team, bringing in advisers with first-hand experience of professional sport alongside the qualifications to advise on it.
Each step has followed the same principle: this community wants advice from people who understand the pace and pressure of the careers involved, backed by the depth of a global wealth management group.
That approach has opened doors across professional sport. In its first year, the division's work has grown to span multiple Premier League and European football clubs, Women's Super League clubs and one of the world's largest multi-club ownership groups. It has established relationships with international sports and entertainment agencies, developed a strong network within the Saudi Pro League and expanded its work across boxing and media.
Built Around The Realities Of The Career
Athletes & Creators was established to help clients whose earnings, contracts and personal circumstances can change quickly, and whose financial decisions often involve more than one country. Its focus is on helping clients turn earning opportunities into long-term financial security.
For an athlete, that may mean preparing for an international transfer, a period away from competition or the transition out of professional sport. For a creator, it may involve managing income across platforms and commercial partnerships, preparing for fluctuations in earnings and coordinating financial decisions across borders.
A handful of moments tend to matter more than the rest:
- The first major contract or brand deal. When earnings jump suddenly, the habits and structures put in place early tend to define everything that follows.
- A move abroad. A transfer or relocation can change tax residency, banking and pension treatment at the same time.
- An injury, a setback or a platform change. Income can pause without warning, exposing gaps in protection and cash flow planning.
- The final season. The end of a career rarely arrives on schedule, and the transition afterwards is where years of earnings are either preserved or quietly lost.
The objective is to help clients build a financial plan that accounts for those changes, rather than relying on their strongest earning years continuing indefinitely.
Experience Across Sport, Media And Financial Advice
The division's advisory team includes former Scotland international footballer Christophe Berra and Team GB Olympic boxer Delicious Orie, both qualified financial advisers. They bring first-hand experience of professional sport alongside the technical knowledge required to advise clients on their financial futures.
The division also draws on the expertise of Emmanuel Asuquo, a Private Wealth Adviser, broadcaster and author. Alongside his wider client advisory role, Emmanuel contributes experience across financial advice, media, publishing and financial education, strengthening the division's connection with the creator community.
These advisers are supported by Skybound's specialist tax expertise, dedicated Cross-Border Support Desk and proprietary Plume technology, including its MoneyMap forecasting tool. Together, these resources help advisers coordinate specialist input and explore how changes in income, career plans or residency could affect a client's longer-term financial position.
