We’re used to seeing Kate Middleton riding around in a literal gold carriage / various chauffeured cars, but she took a break from the royal lifestyle and was spotted on the tube in London—with her daughter, Princess Charlotte!
Hello Magazine reports that Kate and Charlotte “ditched” their motorcade to hop on the Elizabeth line in Central London. They were with their security detail, and apparently it was a new experience for Princess Charlotte, who reportedly looked “amazed” by her surroundings. A fellow commuter got footage of their entourage—you can see Kate, in a burgundy outfit, with Charlotte sitting next to her, surrounded by security.
A source told Hello Magazine that the royal mother-daughter duo “spoke to members of the public sitting across from them. They had security with them and Catherine held Charlotte’s hand getting off at Tottenham Court Road. The security didn’t make it obvious they were there and they tried to make it as ‘normal’ as possible.”
"Catherine had her phone with her and was looking at her phone for a couple of minutes,” the insider added. “They seemed very relaxed and were chatting together, smiling. It was a brief interaction with people opposite them but they seemed very happy.”
Unclear where Kate and Charlotte were going, but for what it’s worth they were on a relatively new tube line that opened during Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee year.
