KUALA LUMPUR: National swimmer Nur Syaiful Zulkafli successfully defended his men's 100 metre breaststroke SB4 gold medal in style at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Para Games today.
Syaiful renewed the games record twice en route to winning gold at the Nagoya City General Gymnasium pool.
He clocked one minute and 41.44 seconds to win the final ahead of Kazakhstan's Ali Turganbekov (1:44.26s) and India's Rohit Kumar (1:57.25s), who settled for silver and bronze respectively.
Syaiful's time erased the games record he had set in the morning preliminaries when he clocked 1:41.55s.
