Teyana Taylor‘s Schiaparelli Couture look took sculptural styling to new heights at the annual Academy Museum Gala on Saturday night at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles.
The Oscar-nominated “One Battle After Another” actress turned to the French luxury fashion house’s fall 2026 couture collection for the star-studded event. The ensemble was crafted with a strapless statement breastplate that molded to Taylor’s frame.
Sculpted to the actress’ hips, the breastplate, cast in a misty robin’s egg blue, transitioned to a semi-sheer skirt with slightly exaggerated hips and a bouquet of floral-inspired appliqués cascading down the column silhouette.
The skirt featured a subtle ombré effect, transitioning from a blue tone to an earthy brown by the hemline, complementing Taylor’s Christian Louboutin pumps. As for accessories, Taylor continued the Schiaparelli style with a set of eye stud earrings as her sole jewelry.
Taylor’s Academy Museum Gala look made its runway debut as part of Paris Couture Week last July. Curated by creative director Daniel Roseberry, the collection “embraced the paradox of creating made-to-measure clothes in the digital age by pairing haute couture techniques with unexpected materials ranging from latex and silicone to dried flowers, seashells and fish scales,” Joelle Diderich wrote in WWD’s review.
“Glossy molded jackets and corsets were as stiff and pneumatic as the Allen Jones breastplate that Kim Kardashian wore to the Met Gala. Rubbery dresses quivered and clung from every curve,” Diderich wrote. Taylor wasn’t the only star who sported a design from the fall 2026 couture Schiaparelli collection. “Obsession” breakout star Inde Navarrette also wore a polka-dot dress from the curation.
The sixth annual Academy Museum Gala was held at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on Saturday night. Filmmaker and composer John Carpenter was honored with the Luminary Award for his contributions to filmmaking, while Charlize Theron was also honored with the Icon Award and Colman Domingo was named the recipient of the Vantage Award.
While there was plenty of star power at the event, a performance from Grammy Award winner Taylor Swift added a touch of pop star edge to the night. Presented in partnership with Rolex, the 2026 Academy Museum Gala co-chairs included Robert Rodriguez, Tom Ford, Steven Spielberg and Kate Capshaw.
