This is your chance to explore one of Dubai’s hottest new menus for a scandalously low price…
There isn’t a league table for Dubai’s most hyped restaurants, but let’s pretend for a moment that there is. Gymkhana would be sitting right at the top of that metaphorical table right now, with a crown made of peacock feathers and an entirely justified look of nonchalant satisfaction.
Its expertly conceived menu takes classic Indian dishes and stamps them with the inimitable swagger of its Michelin-dual-starred London counterpart. The result? What might just be the most talked-about, hardest-to-secure restaurant reservation in Dubai right now.
Business up front, spicy in the back
The restaurant, found in DIFC, has just launched a new business lunch menu, and it truly is a song of fire, spice and a ridiculously attractive price. For just Dhs145, you get four courses (with some optional add-ons).
To begin, guests will be given a prime pappadum selection with club chutneys. For starters choose between aloo chaat and masala yoghurt, or beetroot chops and peanut ghatti masala, or a king crab ghee roast with thatte idli.
You’ll be asked if you want to bolt on the tandoori masala lamb chop with walnut chutney (for an additional Dhs125), and the jury is very much settled on this. You really ought to say yes.
Next up it’s a wild ride through the flavour highlands of the mains – Goan prawn curry with Malabar parotta; kid goat methi keema with salli and pao; chicken butter masala with naan; or channa masala with methi mooli bhatura.
To finish, in true high-society sporting club fashion, petit fours.
