The Falcons released defensive back Malcolm DeWalt IV on Thursday, the team announced.
He signed with the Falcons as an undrafted free agent out of Akron.
DeWalt stood out in the rookie minicamp, training camp and the preseason and made the initial 53-player roster.
The Falcons have made him a healthy scratch for every game this season, though.
It is possible he re-signs with the team’s practice squad if he clears waivers.
