The Nets and Hornets will reconvene for a another showdown on Wednesday, this time kicking off the NBA regular season.
The Nets had a solid preseason, going 3-1 and only faltering in a high-scoring shootout against the Heat. Brooklyn defeated these Hornets by a wide margin in their 2026-27 debut, snagging a 124-90 win in Charlotte. Michael Porter Jr. has been the Nets' top scorer, averaging 21.7 points per game.
The Hornets will get another chance against Brooklyn, but this time will pose a tougher challenge on the road. Charlotte's preseason was not as smooth, going 1-3 and only finding a way to win against the Bucks. Star guard Kon Knueppel has been completely sidelined with a hamstring strain, but the team is hoping for his return on Wednesday.
