IMPHAL, Oct 18 : The Poumai Naga Officers’ Association (PNOA), Imphal has come out strongly against the transfer of Kamjong SP Tholu Rocky.
The Poumai Naga Officers’ Association, Imphal (PNOA) has issued a strong condemnation on Sunday against the character assassination of one of its senior ranking police officers, Tholu Rocky, MPS, who was serving as the Superintendent of Police (SP) in-charge of Kamjong District.
The association explicitly slammed the malicious misinformation campaigns that directly triggered his subsequent transfer to the Manipur Police Training College (MPTC) via an official order issued today.
The PNOA stated that all Government officers, irrespective of caste, creed or gender possess a foundational responsibility to act strictly in accordance with their respective departmental service rules and the executive directives of the Government in rule.
The association stressed that no society, Civil Society Organisation (CSO), or individuals should fabricate malicious information to deliberately target and tarnish the personal and professional reputation of an officer without physical evidence.
Taking a firm stance against the ongoing media campaign, PNOA Imphal has strongly urged the Manipur Government and the Manipur Police Department to immediately file a First Information Report (FIR) and arrest the culprits.
Furthermore, the association has demanded the immediate revocation of the transfer order issued against Tholu Rocky.
The PNOA Imphal has requested the Government of Manipur to restrain political or social leaders from instigating false propaganda across public platforms.
The association said that this development is a serious, calculated strategy to further divide the people of Manipur on community lines by involving multiple sections of society.
The PNOA Imphal has also called upon all stakeholders to take definitive steps towards restoring peace, communal harmony, and public order in the State.
