The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has introduced a monthly physical fitness programme for its staff to promote healthy living and improve productivity.
The Head of the FCTA Civil Service, Nancy Sabanti Nathan, led staff members in the inaugural exercise on Saturday, October 17, which began at the Area 11 Secretariat in Abuja.
The programme will feature walks, aerobics, cultural dances and free medical outreach, giving workers an opportunity to engage in physical activity at least once a month.
Addressing participants, Nathan said the initiative would help staff remain physically fit, energised and productive in the discharge of their duties.
She said the exercise would leave workers “rejuvenated and renewed” to continue supporting the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, in implementing his programmes for the territory.
The exercise attracted a large turnout of FCTA staff, including the Executive Secretary of the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA), heads of agencies, permanent secretaries and directors.
The monthly programme is expected to promote a culture of fitness and wellness among FCTA staff.
