By Zoila Palma: The Ministry of Immigration, Governance and Labour is updating the application process for the Mexican Border Crossing Card ahead of the launch of an expanded Digital Border Crossing Card programme.
The Ministry said the initiative is intended to make travel more convenient for eligible Mexican nationals visiting Belize.
Under the expanded programme, eligible Mexican nationals will be able to visit for up to seven days throughout Belize, extending the previous three-day provision that was limited to the northern districts.
The initiative aims to encourage tourism, strengthen cross-border connections and deepen the longstanding friendship between Belize and Mexico.
The Ministry said a confirmed list of application requirements and guidance on the updated process will be published shortly through its official communication channels.
The Ministry reiterated that there is currently no application fee for the Mexican Border Crossing Card.
