The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has clarified how a B-Form can be issued for a child when the mother does not have a Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC).
Speaking on a NADRA podcast, spokesperson Syed Shahabat Ali said the answer depends on whether a CNIC was ever issued to the mother.
If the mother already holds a CNIC but does not have it at hand, the process is not affected. Her identity can be verified through her CNIC number or through biometric verification, including fingerprints.
If a CNIC was never issued to the mother, the B-Form application may face difficulties because complete documents and information are required in the family record.
According to NADRA officials, a mother without a CNIC may also have no marriage registration on record. In that case, a family number may not have been issued either, which can complicate the issuance of the child’s B-Form.
