KUCHING, Oct 21 — A teacher was injured while attempting to wrest a sharp object from a student at an international school here this morning.
It is learned that the secondary school student was brought under control and taken to the principal’s office before the police arrived and took over the matter.
The teacher was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Kuching district police chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu, when contacted, said the police are looking into the incident.
There was no immediate information on what further action was taken on the student.
Efforts to contact the school for comments were unsuccessful.
An email purportedly sent by the school to its staff and parents of students, said the incident was isolated and no other injuries were reported.
It also said the students of the school were not in danger throughout the incident as they had been promptly moved to safety as precaution.
Lessons were ended early to allow police investigations. — The Borneo Post
