Salma Hayek’s daughter Valentina says growing up with parents in the limelight made her realise the importance of having rules around her own social media presence.
The 19-year-old is Salma’s daughter with husband François-Henri Pinault, and has started making more appearances at high profile events herself, such as attending the McQueen show during London Fashion Week in September (26).
Valentina has also made her Tatler magazine cover debut, appearing on the front of the UK December issue alongside rugby player Henry Pollock, with the edition naming the pair among the world’s top “200 hot young eligibles”.
However, in her interview for the magazine, Valentina said that having a world-famous actress like Salma for a mum, as well as a billionaire businessman as a father in François-Henri, helped her come to the realisation that she needs to have some rules in place for her own life when it comes to social media.
She told Tatler: “Growing up with parents who are public figures gave me an idea of what I don’t want in my head.
“I don’t mind people seeing what I’m doing, but I don’t like the idea of people being able to comment on what I’m doing, or keeping track of (it).”
There are benefits to having a Hollywood star as a mother though, with Valentina donning the Isaac Mizrahi dress that Salma had worn to the 1997 Oscars to attend the 2023 Academy Awards alongside the star.
Of Salma’s extensive wardrobe, Valentina gushed: “(She has) the biggest closet and the biggest collection of every item of clothing you can possibly think of.”
Following Valentina’s cover release, Salma took to social media to gush about her daughter’s appearance in the stunning photos, sharing the shots and writing: “Ladies and gentlemen, the baby that came out of my womb! Now this gorgeous goddess is on the cover of @tatlermagazine.
“What makes me the proudest about you, Valentina, is that you are kind, thoughtful, caring, hilarious, and so much fun to be around.”
