Stupid Never Dies launches Oct 21 on PS5 and PC. See how Style Eat and Body Hack work in the zombie action RPG from ex-Capcom producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi’s studio.
GPTRACK50, the studio founded by former Capcom producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi, launches its first game, Stupid Never Dies, on PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam on October 21, 2026. The PlayStation Store lists the unlock at 10 PM UTC, and the Japan release is listed for October 22. Sega is co-publishing. The 3D action RPG with roguelike elements is single-player; Davy and Julia perform the opening theme, and Davy performs the ending theme.
A zombie in love
In Stupid Never Dies, you play as Davy, a timid zombie at the bottom of monster society. Monsters rule the ruined world and have wiped out about 98% of humanity. Davy finds a human woman named Julia who froze to death in a freezer and falls for her at first sight. To revive her, he must descend into a dungeon and eat KOM, the King of Monsters, to reclaim humanity’s stolen knowledge.
Style Eat and Body Hack
Combat is billed as Funky Zombie Action. With Style Eat, Davy bites the cores out of elite monsters to steal their powers and transform. There are 11 styles, including the default Zombie Style, with Werewolf, Harpy, Golem, and Vampire among them. Reviews report that each style lasts only three floors, so players keep switching as new threats appear. Body Hack lets you replace Davy’s head, arms, and legs with Overtech gear, which boosts stats and unlocks active and passive skills. Davy Burst temporarily boosts all his abilities, and Stupid Parry counters enemy attacks. Reviews also note that runs are timed, and when the countdown ends, Davy takes heavy stat penalties.
The team behind it
Kobayashi spent 27 years at Capcom and has producer credits on Resident Evil, Devil May Cry, Dino Crisis, and Dragon’s Dogma. Eiichiro Sasaki directs, and the game was built in Unreal Engine 5. GPTRACK50 was set up as a NetEase Games studio in 2022, though its latest announcements describe it as independent. Davy’s allies include Dr. Frank, a self-proclaimed supreme intellect; Goyle, a statue that cannot move and analyzes dungeon runs; and Acelino, a chihuahua man who handles Body Hack. On PS5, the game is PS5 Pro Enhanced.
