Philadelphia 76ers head coach Nick Nurse snubbed Mike Brown after LeBron James’ signing.
The Philadelphia 76ers adding LeBron James to their roster has shaken things up before the 2026-27 NBA season.
Hardly any fans expected the King to take his talents to Philly, and this included head coach Nick Nurse. As a result, Nurse made sure to talk to several of James’ former head coaches after his decision to join the 76ers.
However, Nurse strategically left New York Knicks head coach Mike Brown off the list, and the reason behind it was nothing personal.
Nick Nurse didn’t call Mike Brown about LeBron James due to Philadelphia 76ers’ 2026 playoff loss
Despite Brown being James’ head coach for five full seasons for the Cleveland Cavaliers, he didn’t make Nurse’s list.
Why? Well, according to Knicks beat writer Kristian Winfield, Nurse is still not over the 76ers’ embarrassing 2026 Eastern Conference Semifinals defeat vs. New York.
“Definitely not him [Mike Brown]. I did talk to some guys about him, though,” Nurse said.
Considering the 76ers were swept by the Knicks in the 2026 playoffs, it seems that coach Nurse has some bad blood for Brown.
At the end of the day, Nurse didn’t need Brown’s advice as the 76ers registered a 106-100 win over the Knicks during the 2026-27 season opener for both teams.
James finished the game with 14 points, 9 rebounds, and 7 assists in 34 minutes of playing time for the 76ers.
