Zipporah Njeri Mwangi has been designated to take over his functions, assuming the role of Acting Chief Officer for Public Participation, Citizen Engagement, and Customer Service in addition to her existing responsibilities for City Culture, Arts, and Tourism.
The circular also covered two other senior officials. Eng. Samwel Njogu was reassigned to serve as Acting Chief Officer for Mobility, while Godfrey Akumali was moved to the Housing and Urban Renewal docket and additionally designated as Acting Chief Officer for Lands.
The Nairobi City County Government did not issue a separate public statement accompanying the circular, and Dr. Waikenda's letter noted only that the changes were directed to take effect immediately upon issuance.

Mosiria's political ambitions
Meanwhile, before his removal, Mosiria had publicly positioned himself as a future contender for the top seat in Nairobi, stating he would contest the 2027 race if he secured endorsements from two senior political figures.
While he stopped short of announcing an immediate resignation, he acknowledged that his tenure in county government was drawing to a close.
His remarks, which signalled a clear break in political loyalty, appear to have accelerated his exit from the administration.
