SAN MARCOS - Texas State football emerges from the bye to host Colorado State at UFCU Stadium, hoping to get back on track after a disastrous start to Pac-12 conference play against San Diego State.
The Bobcats (2-3, 0-1 in conference) had a statistically brilliant game against the Aztecs. What cost them were avoidable special teams errors and a pair of interceptions by Texas State quarterback Brad Jackson. Although the second-year starter has had his moments of brilliance, Texas State has lost every game in which he's turned the ball over.

The defense will have its hands full dealing with Colorado State's offense. The Rams are averaging 37.4 points per game under head coach Jim Mora, the second-best mark in the conference. On the flip side, they're the worst defense in the Pac-12, allowing a staggering 38.6 points and 493.2 yards per game.
ESPN's Pete Thamel reported earlier in the week that Colorado State quarterback Hauss Hejny will not start against Texas State, although he might serve in an emergency backup role.
